Asset Locking
Compass ensures content items are only worked on by one person at a time. When you edit an item, Compass temporarily locks it for you so others can't make edits. As soon as you're done, Compass unlocks it automatically. This prevents simultaneous edits so no content is lost.
Manual locking.
In some cases, a user may need to lock an item for a longer period of time. Compass allows users to lock an item until a particular date and time in the future - preventing others from making changes until then.
Asset locking example:
You click to edit the services page. Compass automatically creates a temporary lock for you.

When another user sees the services page, Compass displays a lock next to it. Hovering over the page title lets the user know Cristian G. has a temporary lock on that page.

As soon as you're done editing, Compass automatically releases the lock so others can make edits.
